Aircon relocations, Pretoria East
Take your aircon with you when you move
Moving house, renovating, or a unit in the wrong room? We decommission, move and reinstall it properly: gas reclaimed, lines vacuumed, regassed to spec, with a new COC.
A relocation done right
Reclaim and decommission. The refrigerant is recovered into a cylinder as the law requires, the unit is disconnected and the wall made good.
Move and prepare. We transport the unit if needed and prepare the new position, including a new line set where the old one cannot be reused.
Reinstall and vacuum. Mounted, piped and wired at the new position, then the lines are vacuumed to remove air and moisture.
Regas and recommission. Charged to the manufacturer's spec, tested in every mode, and handed over with a new Certificate of Conformity.
A relocation is a full installation done twice, which is why a cheap quote for one should worry you.
When a relocation makes sense
And when it does not. We quote honestly on both.
- Moving house within Pretoria East — a unit under five years old is usually worth taking along
- Renovating or building on — we remove before the builders start and reinstall when the dust settles
- A unit in the wrong room — moving an oversized lounge unit to the main bedroom often beats buying new
- Old R22 units — usually not worth moving, and we will say so with replacement numbers alongside
What clients say
They removed both units the day before the builders arrived and reinstalled them two months later like nothing happened. New certificates for both, and the trunking at the new positions is neater than the original install.
Moved our 18000 BTU unit from the old house to the new one in a single Saturday. Reclaimed the gas properly, new pipes at the new place, working by that evening.

Relocation questions
Most units in good condition, yes. Very old units running discontinued R22 refrigerant are usually not worth moving, and we will tell you upfront if a relocation costs more than the unit is worth.
We reclaim the refrigerant, decommission and remove the unit, transport it if needed, then reinstall with a new line set where required, vacuum the lines, regas to spec and recommission. It is a full installation done twice, which is why it is priced like one.
Yes. A reinstallation is refrigerant work, so a new COC is legally required and issued with every relocation.
If both sites are ready and within our area, usually yes. Removals in the morning, reinstallation in the afternoon. Longer moves are split over two visits.
It depends on the unit's age and gas type. For a unit under about five years old a relocation usually makes sense. For older units we quote both options so you can compare real numbers.
